A few of us in the 6:30pm class have taken on Chad Vaugh's Olyathlete programming (hybrid version). We do our heavy days when Chad is there so he can comment and correct, so we have to adjust our days slightly.
ReplyDeleteAfter one week my observations are these.
The workouts include rest intervals during the wods which is very different than our normal Wod scheme. This has proved to be a shock to my system, which is a good thing. It encourages more power through each set.
The workouts are longer. No more 10 minute Wods, we are going for 35-40 minutes pretty hard.
The effects of these workouts are almost immediately noticable, we did roughly the same workout a week after we first did it, and my strength had improved on the ring dips and pullups. This could have been a mental change, but physically I just feel stronger.
So far this is fun....well when I don't think I'm going to die its fun. Looking forward to examining the results after the full 9 week cycle.
